So 5.7 pounds, not a bad first week, eh? So Here's what I've got for a plan so far... My Sister's wedding is coming up in May, and so we are trying to save money for the trip to Virginia. So my diet is cobbled together from cheap food, and stuff that we already have around the house. So my general scheme is Slimfast for Breakfast. We have several tubs of powder in the pantry from previous diet attempts. For lunch I plan to have Ramen Noodles; I can eat these things for months before I start to get sick of them and at $0.18 per serving you can't get much cheaper. I'll eat whatever Mary makes for dinner but the goal will be to keep it "sensible." The challenge there is assembling the recipes for what she makes so that I can record (with reasonable accuracy) the nutritional information for my dinners. But FatSecret.com does have a recipe function to enter that stuff so it isn't too painful. So that's it. I guess my goal is to keep below 75% of my RDI which I did everyday except yesterday. The problem was we went out for brunch after the St. Ann Easter Egg Hunt. I had an avocado and bacon burrito from Denny's. Costs money AND has lots of calories, so definitely off diet. I guess having an RDI of 3400 makes it easier to stay under, but I suppose that ought drop as I lose weight.
So while I'm pleased with week one, I also think that increasing my activity level (exercising) will be an important part of this process moving forward. For my first step I called and canceled my lawn service. Geovanni Novoa did an AWESOME job on my yard and was super cheap, but to save money AND lose weight I'm going to cut my own grass this season. I'm ruling out my old friend the Elevator as well. When I drop below 350, I'll add in the elliptical, when I drop under 325 I'll start going to the gym, and when I get under 300 I'll reward myself with a WiiFit, and at 275 I'll buy a bike. Reasonable Milestone's, no?
